Tomorrow is the official day of Chinese New Year this year. My cyber-friend Epin, from my Yahoo! adoption board, had a lovely thing to say to us today:
I want to wish everyone a very happy new year. This upcoming year is a very lucky one since it will have 2 springs (because early CNY this year and a late one next year). How appropriate that you will welcome your child during this special year.
I love it! What a neat tidbit of information, that this year is a special one because it will have two springs! This is the character for Spring. The Chinese call the New Year's Celebration the "Spring Festival." This particular calligraphy is a reproduction of the work of one of master calligrapher Zhao Mengfu's (1254-1322).
