are you chilly?
We keep our house at 65 from 6am-9pm and 60 while we are sleeping. This seems reasonable to me, but I think we are outnumbered. I have vivid memories of my heat-seeking father constantly fiddling with the thermostat...ah, memories. What temps do you have in your home? Just curious...

Been lurking for a while and am popping up now. We just celebrated our first gotcha anniversary today! Anyway, we have our thermostat anywhere from 61-65 during the day, usually at 61 unless it's unusually cold (as it had been for a bit recently). During the day it gets about 62 or so inside and we're alright. At night we set ours at 53, usually it dips just below that around 4 or 5 in the morning but otherwise it is around 55.
oops, sorry forgot to sign off and I don't want to be an obnoxious anon. person who doesn't even sign off.

OOh, a delurking post! We have ours set to 68 during the day, but only because our heating system is wonky. At night, 62 if it's really really cold out.

Hey there! I must be destracted 'cause I haven't read your site for a while!! We keep the thermo at 68 from 6am-4pm then heat up to 72 4-8 then back to 68 from 8-10 and down to 62 10pm-6am. Aren't you glad you asked!! ; )

The thermostat in our house is set at 68 from 9am-11pm then down to 65 until 5am when it goes back up to 70 for the morning routine.
Thank goodness for programmable thermostats, otherwise we'd always be fiddling with it!
